Welcome!
This website seeks to explain the history of Jewish immigration to Boston in the late 19th and early 20th century and describe the immigrants' experiences and evolution. It also attempts to analyze the rhetoric they created while they were there in order show the perspective of the Jewish immigrants and how they maintained their religion through their new experience in America. Finally, it identifies how the Jewish identity has changed over time. This website reflects the work of six eleventh-grade students from Austin High School who recently traveled to Boston to learn more about Jewish immigration. We hope you leave this site with a little more knowledge of Jewish immigration's many aspects.
